Garage Door Not Closing?

A garage door not closing leaves your house vulnerable, especially if you use your garage for storage. We use them almost daily, yet we don’t realize how important they are until they stop operating.

Automatic garage doors save us time, shelter us from torrential downpours, and protect our cars from outside wear and tear. Larry Myers Garage Doors is here to provide you with a few troubleshooting methods if your garage door doesn’t close:

1. Blocked Beam

Check to see if there are any objects blocking the sensor beams. Even leaves dangling from the door or debris covering the sensor eye can prevent the garage door from closing. Also, spiders like to make webs in these areas, so it is important to brush them off.

2. Misaligned Sensors

Door vibrations can cause the sensors to shift out of alignment. Check for a green light to indicate if the sensors are aligned. If this is the case, try moving the sensors or adjusting the wing nut till the light turns green.

3. Bent Tracks or Worn Cables

Examine whether or not the cable is worn, or if there are any bends in the tracks. If you notice these problems, please contact a professional for repairs. When dealing with machinery, it’s important to ask for professional help to avoid complications or potential injury.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us. We at Larry Myers Garage Doors have over 40 years of experience and we’ll be glad to assist you!
